In recent weeks, JVI partnered with a wide range of nonprofit organizations, churches, freedom businesses, and local governments in Asia to:
- rescue nine minor girls from the sex trade in eastern India
- rescue 161 men, women and children from a brick kiln in northern India
- conduct seven training sessions in Nepal on topics ranging from “Investigating Cross-Border Trafficking” to “Trauma Focused Training on Self-Care” to equip and empower local leaders to fight human trafficking
- provide legal aid and aftercare services to hundreds of survivors of human trafficking and other extreme injustice
What happens after rescue?
JVI’s relationship with local aftercare partners means that survivors have access to an entire community of resources to help them on the road to recovery. These specialists know the cultural, psychological, and economic barriers that will have to be faced, and can work with these individuals to envision ways of overcoming them.
Freedom businesses, like those we partner with through JVI’s Shop for Freedom, give survivors a sustainable way to support themselves and their families.
