After being trafficked and sexually exploited at a young age, Sabina is now close to completing her vocational training in sewing while she continues to live in a JVI partner’s safe house.

Sabina grew up in a poor family in West Bengal. In 2021, at the age of seventeen, she decided to escape poverty with her younger sister and was lured by someone who promised a job opportunity. However, on the bus ride, she realized they had been tricked and were being taken to an unknown location. Upon arrival, the girls were sexually exploited and forced to perform dances in extremely dangerous conditions. She escaped back home, and with the help of a JVI Justice Hub working with the government, freed her younger sister.
Two years later, she has continued to journey with an aftercare specialist and is currently preparing to complete her sewing course. She plans to save her salary so that she can support her parents and siblings.
JVI celebrates Sabina’s continued restoration as she graduates and moves forward with her life.
