In 2019, eight families were rescued from agricultural bonded labor in Bihar. Justice Hub partners began the process of rehabilitation by obtaining identification documents for the survivors and opening up bank accounts. One of the survivors, Ram Prasad,* is now able to successfully provide for his family of six with a job in the village as a cleanliness worker that allows him to earn a decent salary for a few hours of work each morning. In addition, since Ram was given a job card he can also work as a laborer. His three children have been enrolled in school and are able to pursue an education. The provision of basic necessities and opportunities for work and schooling have ensured that Ram and the other survivors can hope for a better future.
