Tell One Friend

One friend. One conversation. One step closer to freedom.

You already care deeply about those trapped in exploitation and oppression. You’ve chosen not to look away. You’ve chosen to stand for freedom and justice.

But sometimes it’s hard to know how to talk about it. You may wonder:

  • How do I explain this work clearly?
  • What if I don’t say it perfectly?
  • What if they ask questions I can’t answer?

Take a deep breath. You don’t need to have all the answers. You simply need your story.

Here is an example of how Curt tells his friends about JVI.

How to Start the Conversation

You don’t need a script — but sometimes it helps to have a starting point. Here are a few natural ways to begin:

  • Can I tell you about something I’ve been supporting?
  • There’s an organization I care about that’s bringing real hope to people who’ve experienced trafficking.

Keep it simple. Keep it personal.

Example Email Invitation

Hello Friend,

I wanted to share something that’s been on my heart.

I’ve been supporting Justice Ventures International, an organization that partners with local leaders around the world to fight human trafficking and walk with survivors toward real restoration. Not just rescue, but long-term freedom.

I couldn’t stop thinking about the work once I learned about it, I thought you should see it too.

Would you be available to hop on a call with me? I’m available at these times … or whenever it works for you.

Thanks for caring about things that matter.

You can check out their work at justiceventures.org. I also recommend this video narrated by the founder, Jeff Pankratz. https://youtu.be/ljSdcor2eBE

Warmly,

Your name

WHAT TO ASK YOUR FRIEND

You’re not asking them to donate. You’re simply inviting them to learn.

You might say:

  • “Would you be open to checking out their work?”
  • “I’d love for you to see what they’re doing.”
  • “You don’t have to do anything — just take a look.”
