Director of Development
A native Texan, Leigh holds a B.S. in International Business from Grove City College and an M.A. in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University. Before joining JVI she worked in higher education fundraising for over a decade at the Institute for Humane Studies, leading a 15-person team to hit new revenue highs three consecutive years. Her fundraising philosophy is guided by a framework of mutual benefit as described by Henri Nouwen in, “A Spirituality of Fundraising.” She serves as a mentor with Alexandria-based nonprofit Casa Chirilagua, within the community of Incarnation Anglican Church, and on the board of Youth 4 Business, an NGO providing entrepreneurship training and microloans in Les Cayes, Haiti. She enjoys gardening, playing with her five nieces and nephews, and walks with her rescue lab, Daisy.
